From the beaches and rivers of Boca to the river locations, and even dog parks, Boca Raton has more beautiful outdoor locations than you can shake a stick at.
Sugar Sand Park
Located on S. Military Trail and measuring a grand 132 acres, Sugar Sand Park is uniquely sorted into age groups to help you figure out which part you and your family should visit.
Recently renovated, it has countless amenities, including a science center, theater, outdoor parks, both indoor and outdoor basketball courts, and more.
The park is also widely beloved, with an average rating of 4.8 stars on Google reviews, with over 1,000 reviews so far.
Patch Reef Park
Down on Yamato Road, you’ll find Patch Reef Park, which prides itself on its sports and recreation facilities and has also been received well for being easy to get in an out of.
Features include tennis courts, walking paths, playgrounds, water fountains (bring your kids’ swimsuits!), and plenty of seats in the shade for those hot, sunny days.
The park works well for events too, with flora maintained around the picnic areas and plenty of coverage in case of rain, which may account for its 4.7 star average on Google Reviews, with over 300 reviews.
Spanish River Park
Along the Intracoastal Waterway on State Road A-1-A is Spanish River Park, which has beach and ocean access.
A great place for bird-watching, swimming, and more, Spanish River Park is popular for having ample parking and clean restrooms as well as lots to do and being in a great location.
One of it’s best features is the glass tunnel across the beach, from which you can take in the view while protected from the elements.
This park is also very popular, with an average 4.6 star Google rating and over 500 reviews.
Lake Wyman Park
Found on NE 5th Avenue, Lake Wyman park is interesting because companies have family friendly events there on a regular basis. In 2018 Jet Blue held a “Boo House” for children at Halloween time, and face painters and costumed characters are not an uncommon occurrence there.
With grills, white sands volleyball, and the playground tucked into a corner, making it easier to corral the kids, this park is just great for gatherings. Some have even called it the best park in Boca, despite it getting less foot traffic than larger areas like Sugar Sand or Spanish River.
With almost 100 reviews and 4.6 star Google rating, this park is still worth adding to your itinerary for your day out in Boca.
